Hugo and Lily’s is a family business, made up of mother/daughter duo Victoria and Rosie, with the occasional input from husband and father Antek, and was named after our lovely dogs, Hugo and Lily. Born from a love of both crafting and auctions and our desire to be as environmentally friendly as possible, we started off by making beautiful things for the home, out of items we just couldn’t resist at auctions.
We have evolved from making anything and everything we can think of with unwanted materials, to honing our craft into stylish, one-off creations for the home. Key to our vision is our desire to use repurposed and recycled materials wherever possible to reduce our environmental impact, including our packaging, branding and equipment. We are always looking for different ways to use unloved items so our store will constantly be evolving with new products.
Rosie is the designer and maker of the jewellery that Hugo and Lily's sells. She graduated in 2021 with a degree in Design Crafts (Jewellery), where she became concerned about the negative impact that the industry can have on the environment and she now strives to be as eco-friendly in her designs as possible. She uses repurposed silver from items such as vintage silver jewellery and cutlery, as well as reusing gemstones to give them a new life in unique designs. Any materials that cannot be sourced from local auctions are either recycled or bought from eco conscious companies with ethical credentials.
